Meeting Date:
3rd Monday of the month
Meeting Time:
7:00 p.m.
We provide hand-made items, made with love and prayers, to bring comfort and warmth to those in need. We share patterns as well as teach and encourage others to knit and/or crochet. Yarn forms the stitches that forge friendships.
Our chemo caps are distributed to local cancer treatment centers, preemie/baby caps are given to Vista Health Care Center in Waukegan and lap robes and/or prayer shawls are provided to persons in need of a warm, calming embrace.
We have provided scarves, hats and mittens to LSSI children, clients of PADs, and in conjunction with the Thrivent coat drive, to children in the Waukegan Area during the Christmas Season.
Our newest endeavor is to provide baby hats to all the newborns of our church family.
We are also currently knitting and crocheting scarves for participants in the Special Olympics Michigan Winter Games.
Many of our members knit or crochet items while at home. Or you’re always welcome to join us when we meet here at St. Mark’s on the 3rd Monday night of each month – 7:00 to 8:00pm. No experience necessary!
“For the needy will not be forgotten forever, the hopes of the poor will not always be crushed.”
Psalm 9:18
