“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways, says the LORD”.
The prophet Isaiah gives us some very important information about our state of being…”we don’t think like God”. And because we don’t think like God, we don’t act like God.
Some people take that axiom to mean that God’s thoughts and God’s ways are beyond our means; in a sense, in accessible to human beings! Not so! The prophet here is helping us under-stand that if the only possibilities for how to live and experience life flow from “our thoughts”, then the teachings of God and the possibilities of faith will remain outside the zone of our existence. BUT if we begin to think like God, then we will also begin to act like God. The possibilities become unlimited, just as God is unlimited in His power and grace.
“How do I access the thoughts of God?” Fortunately for us God has given us His thoughts in His Word. With-out that Word, we remain who we are, trapped by our views and our experiences of life. But if the truth of who we are and the world we live in enters our lives, everything changes. We then begin to think and act like God!
This fall we will begin our Bible studies. Places where the thoughts of God are revealed which will change your life. We are preparing Bible studies for every generation, interest level, and ability. Watch the newsletter for information regarding what they are and when they will start.
