Job Fare

New Unemployment Figures: 0%

We all wish we would wake up tomorrow to find this headline on the morning newspaper! Everyone employed…everyone benefitting from the dignity and value of making a living and contributing to the common good!

Among those who hope for full employment among His people is the Creator of all things. In the economy of God, there are no expendable workers. But God has engaged each of us in specific ways so that the world “works”. Listen to St. Paul:

“Now there are a variety of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of working, but it is the same God who inspires them all in every one. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.” -1 Corinthians 12:4-7

This passage is the inspiration for our job fare that will place during worship on Sunday, November 20th, 10:00 a.m. At that service [and through the end of the year] we will present the many and varied opportunities for “employment” among our ministry teams, where each of us can find the means to contributing to the common good so this ministry works!

The theme of this Job Fare is “You Can Count of Me”. Each member of the congregation will be given a gift box. Into the gift boxes each of us will place the offerings of time, talent and treasure that we want to contribute to this church. The gift boxes will then be received by the ministry teams with the goal of “full employment” of all of us.

Count your blessings this Thanksgiving! Share a portion of them with God’s people! When asked, say, “You can Count of Me!
