As I write this article in early December, we are still in the opening volley of our stewardship campaign; we are fill with hope and waiting for an enthusiastic response to a basic question of discipleship, “Can We Count on You?” Many have already responded with a resounding “Yes!” If you haven’t yet, please do! As a reminder of the importance of your response, let me share a poem called, “Little Eyes Upon You”.
There are little eyes upon you,
And they are watching night and day.
There are little ears that quickly
Take in every word you say.
There are little hands all eager
To do anything you do;
And a little boy/girl who’s dreaming
Of the day they’ll be like you!
You’re the little one’s idol,
You’re the wisest of the wise.
In their little minds about you
No suspicions ever rise.
They believe in you devoutly
Hold all you say and do,
They say and do, in your way,
When they are grown up just like you.
There’s a wide-eyed little one,
Who believes you are always right;
And their eyes are always opened,
And watches day and night.
You are setting the example
Every day in all you do.
For the little one who’s waiting
To grow up to be like you!
Blessed New Year!
